Harvest Moon

2023

The "Harvest Moon" is the full moon nearest to the autumn equinox, usually in September or early October. Known for rising at the same time for several nights, it helps farmers by extending daylight to harvest crops before winter. Symbolizing abundance and the end of a growth cycle, it is celebrated in art, music, and literature, reflecting its deep ties to nature and agriculture.

Alongside my work as a photographer, I have been running a winery with my partner for 12 years. We produce natural wines and are deeply connected to nature and its cycles, which inspire and rejuvenate us. Both of us live from and with nature, in both the winery and my photography.

The accompanying image, however, does not depict the moon but was taken during the grape harvest, adorning a red wine from our natural winery in Burgenland, Austria.
